To help reduce landfill, Air-Met Scientific actively reduces waste and recycles important resources where possible. This includes our dedicated skip for soft plastics, which is sent directly to a recycling facility to ensure that it is properly recycled. Similarly, we arrange to have our disposable batteries and computer hardware picked up by e-waste programs, and recycle ink cartridges with the supplier.
In addition to this, all workstations are provided with both waste and recycling bins to encourage paper recycling and minimise landfill waste in the office.
As part of our green initiatives, our offices at Air-Met Scientific are installed with solar panels as a source of clean and renewable energy. By investing in renewable energy sources, we hope to reduce our carbon footprint and have a better impact on our environment.
Partnering with PortaGas, Air-Met is proud to offer the ecofriendly “Strip & Ship” recyclable calibration gas cylinder return program. The program utilises a complete line of reusable, sustainable cylinders which can be conveniently returned to PortaGas with the Strip & Ship program at no added cost. This eliminates the additional cost and work associated with traditional cylinder disposal requirements.
Environmental sustainability and conserving the environment is a key priority to the team at Air-Met. Externally, we strive to promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment by supplying and supporting occupational health, safety and environmental monitoring equipment.
Internally, we strive to minimise our environmental footprint on the planet and communities in which we serve. From product sourcing to our internal operations, Air-Met is constantly looking for ways in which we can operate our business in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable manner.
Excess packaging is a waste of resources and impacts our business costs. As part of our goals, Air-Met has purchased a cardboard box recycler which produces a bubble wrap equivalent by using scrap cardboard. This therefore reduces the amount of void fill packaging and bubble wrap we've been sourcing. This in turn helps the environment and saves money on packaging – cost savings which we can pass onto our customers.
