Air-Met Scientific recognises that our operations have both direct and indirect impacts on the environment and is committed to reducing our environmental footprint in the course of doing business. Environmental sustainability and conserving the environment is a key priority to the team at Air-Met.
From product sourcing to our internal operations, Air-Met is constantly looking for ways in which we can operate our business in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable manner.
Air-Met’s Recycling Program ensure that materials to be discarded are processed in an environmentally friendly manner which as a result reduces the amount of materials going to landfill. Additionally, Air-Met brochures are now also printed on 100% recycled paper to minimise our eco-footprint.
- All recyclable materials, such as paper, plastic, tin are to enter a recycling process which ensures that they are not sent to landfill.
- Batteries to be discarded sent to the local council transfer depot for recycling.
- Empty toner and printer cartridges are collected in a recycling bin provided by the supplier and are then taken off-site to be recycled
Here are some of our Green Initiatives:
Eco-Friendly Calibration Gas Cylinder Recycling
Partnering with PortaGas and Industrial Scientific, Air-Met is proud to offer the ecofriendly “Strip & Ship” recyclable calibration gas cylinder return program. The program utilises a complete line of reusable, sustainable cylinders which can be conveniently returned to PortaGas with the Strip & Ship program at no added cost. This eliminates the additional cost and work associated with traditional cylinder disposal requirements.
Environmental sustainability and conserving the environment is a key priority to the team at Air-Met. Externally, we strive to promote a cleaner, healthier and safer environment by supplying and supporting occupational health, safety and environmental monitoring equipment.
Internally, we strive to minimise our environmental footprint on the planet and communities in which we serve. From product sourcing to our internal operations, Air-Met is constantly looking for ways in which we can operate our business in a more environmentally friendly and sustainable manner.
Excess packaging is a waste of resources and impacts our business costs. As part of our goals, Air-Met has purchased a cardboard box recycler which produces a bubble wrap equivalent by using scrap cardboard. This therefore reduces the amount of void fill packaging and bubble wrap we've been sourcing. This in turn helps the environment and saves money on packaging – cost savings which we can pass onto our customers.
So be on the lookout as you may see some of the recycled packaging in your deliveries.
To meet our environmental goals, Air-Met takes a multi-faceted approach in as many aspects of our business as possible. This includes the running of our offices.
Air-Met widely encourages waste prevention, waste reduction, reusing products and recycling of waste. As customers may have noticed, all invoices are emailed electronically and we aim to eventually operate paperless.
Printer ink cartridges and computer hardware are all picked up and recycled. Additionally, work stations all have waste and paper bins to encourage paper recycling and minimise the amount of waste going to landfill.
