At Air-Met Scientific, we believe environmental sustainability is achieved through practical action and continuous improvement. We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint by making informed decisions, improving operational efficiency, and investing in initiatives that deliver measurable environmental outcomes.

As a provider of occupational health, safety and environmental monitoring solutions, we recognise that sustainability extends beyond the products we supply. It influences how we operate, the partnerships we build, and the way we support our customers, communities and the environment.

Our Environmental Sustainability Journey

Environmental sustainability is an ongoing journey. We believe meaningful progress is achieved through continual improvement, informed decision-making and measurable action.

Since FY20, Air-Met Scientific has progressively strengthened its understanding of our environmental footprint through carbon accounting and emissions reporting. Working alongside Green Energy & Carbon Management (GECM), we have established a structured framework to measure emissions, identify opportunities for improvement and develop a long-term roadmap for emissions reduction.

By understanding where our impacts occur, we can focus our efforts where they create the greatest value across our operations, supply chain and broader business activities.



Renewable Energy & GreenPower

Reducing emissions is a key focus of our sustainability strategy. Air-Met Scientific purchases renewable electricity through the Australian Government-backed GreenPower program, ensuring the electricity we consume is matched with renewable energy generation while supporting Australia's transition to a cleaner energy future.

Combined with solar energy generation across our offices and our broader carbon reduction initiatives, GreenPower plays an important role in lowering our operational emissions and supporting our long-term sustainability goals. As part of this journey, Air-Met Scientific has achieved Carbon Neutral status for Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions through renewable electricity procurement and Australian Carbon Credit Units (ACCUs), demonstrating our commitment to responsible environmental management.

Battery Recycling Bin | Air-Met ScientificWe actively reduce landfill by recycling paper, cardboard, plastics, metals, batteries, toner cartridges and electronic waste wherever possible.

Calibration gas cylinders are also recycled through the PortaGas Strip & Ship program, supporting a more circular approach to resource management.

Across our business, we continue to improve energy efficiency through renewable energy, solar panel installations, digital workflows that reduce paper consumption, and initiatives that minimise unnecessary travel and freight.

Recycle cardboard packagingWe're continually improving our packaging practices by reducing unnecessary materials, reusing packaging wherever practical, and replacing traditional plastic void fill with recycled cardboard produced on-site.

By right-sizing cartons and increasing the reuse of materials, we reduce waste while improving operational efficiency.  

We recognise that sustainability extends beyond our own operations. By working closely with suppliers and partners, we continue to improve packaging, increase recycled content, enhance material transparency, and encourage responsible end-of-life recycling practices throughout the value chain.

Environmental sustainability is managed with the same disciplined, data-driven approach we apply across our business. Through ongoing carbon accounting, ESG reporting and supplier engagement, we continue to strengthen the quality of our environmental data while identifying new opportunities to reduce emissions and improve resource efficiency.
