Extended Shelf-Life for Kitagawa Inorganic Gas Detector Tube
Kitagawa Announces Extension of Shelf-Life for New Inorganic Gas Qualitative Detector Tubes
Kitagawa Komyo Rikagaku Kogyo K.K have announced an exciting update for their Inorganic Gas Qualitative Detector Tube (No. 131) – a substantial improvement in shelf-life from 1 year to 3 years. This change applies to tubes manufactured in June 2025 and beyond (from lot 074).
This change ensures that users benefit from greater flexibility in storage and inventory management, reducing waste and improving cost efficiency for workplaces that rely on periodic gas detection. With the extended 3-year shelf-life, Kitagawa continues to demonstrate their commitment to product reliability, quality assurance, and customer satisfaction in gas detection applications.
Inorganic Gas Qualitative Detector Tube
Kitagawa qualitative spot gas detector tube for sampling a range of inorgic gases.
One of over 250 gas detector tubes in Kitagawa’s range, the inorganic gas detector tube is specifically designed to provide qualitative detection of a range of gases rather than a specific quantitative measurement of a single gas. When air is drawn through the tube with the Kitagawa air sampling hand pump, high purity reagents will react with the target gas or vapour. Since the inorganic gas detector tube detects a variety of gases, the colour change resulting from the reaction, and the section of the tube that changes, will indicate the types of gas that are present in the sample.
Detect the presence of a wide range of gases with the Inorganic Gas Qualitative Detector Tube including:
Acetic acid (CH₃COOH)
Amines (general formula: R-NH₂, R₂NH, or R₃N)
Ammonia (NH₃)
Carbon monoxide (CO)
Chlorine gas (Cl₂)
Hydrogen chloride (HCl)
Hydrogen sulfide (H₂S)
Nitrogen dioxide (NO₂)
Phosphine (PH₃)
Sulfur dioxide (SO₂)
Acetylene (C₂H₂)
Methyl mercaptan (CH₃SH)
