DustCanary Trend 420 Personal Real-Time Respirable Dust Monitor Overview

The DustCanary Trend 420 is a continuous qualitative personal real-time dust detector providing protection to workers from inadvertent exposure to respirable dust such as silica, wood dusts, metallic dusts, bioaerosols and more. The Trend 420 utilises optical particle counting with the Next-PM sensor module for optimal and robust measurement in workplace applications. Whilst the Trend 420 does not measure respirable crystalline silica specifically, it provides a practical tool for alerting workers when overall respirable dust levels are dangerous.

Ideal for protecting workers in industrial and construction settings, the DustCanary Trend 420 has a wide dynamic range to measure dust from 10mg/m³ to below 0.005mg/m³ and a 2L/min sampling rate from the front of the device. Its recording capacity of up to 7 days at 1 second intervals allows for continuous data collection.

Configurable audible and visual alarms allow the worker to take appropriate action to minimise dust exposure such as applying respiratory protective equipment or leaving the area. Compact and lightweight (210g) for ergonomic all-day wear by the user, the DustCanary Trend 420 has no catch hazards such as sampling tubes or waste work pumps to interfere with the worker movement or productivity.

The detector conveniently communicates with the secure DustCanary web browser application via Bluetooth allowing for easy configuration, live chart data and access to alarms and dust logs which can be used to visualise dust hotspots and variability across the worksite. In locations where internet access is unreliable, the Trend 420 can still run in an offline mode.
