The Future of Smart Electromagnetic Field Strength Measurements

Narda Fieldman EMF Meter in use on-siteThe Narda FieldMan Electromagnetic Field Meter brings a whole new level of versatility in measuring electromagnetic fields. Succeeding the established NBM-500 series of broadband field meters, the new field strength meter incorporates the practical aspects of EMF and EMC measurements with unrivalled accuracy and range in one easy to use device. Whether it is for low frequency field measurements in the industrial workplace or high frequency measurements on mobile radio antennas and transmitting towers, the Narda Fieldman has been designed to deliver reproducible measurements even for future applications in the fields of health and safety and the environment.

Designed with ease of use and fluidity of use at its centre, the Fieldman EMF Meter’s interface mimicks that of smartphones, allows users to familiarise themselves with it quickly. It also uses recognisable symbols and displays information both numerically and graphically to allow for smooth interpretation of data.

Digital Probes Providing Reliable Omnidirectional Measurements up to 90 GHz

The Narda Fieldman is equipped with a wide range of digital field probes to cover most applications within the frequency range of 0 Hz (DC) to 90 GHz. The probes are automatically recognised by the device, making it easy to connect new probes without the risk of human error. The device itself also does not need to be calibrated, with only the probes requiring calibration, helping to reduce the overall maintenance costs of ownership.

Additional to the tried and tested E field and H field probes for the measurement of broadband field strengths, Narda Safety Test Solutions have released two new B field probes enabling users to separate measurements of magnetic field components.

All probes feature the automatic self-test function enabling the device to identify potential faults in the sensor system and therefore eliminating the need to check with a separate test generator.

Features of the Narda FieldMan Electromagnetic Field Meter

  • Reliable, omnidirectional measurements of both high and low frequencies – The Narda FieldMan can measure frequencies ranging from 0 Hz (DC) up to 90 GHz.
  • Only one basic unit required – The Narda FieldMan can be equipped with digital probes that cover practically any application within the 0 Hz (DC) to 90 GHz frequency range. Only one unit is required which can be used with all the probes to suit the user’s needs.
  • Integrated probe and sensor test – built in testing for greater reliability and accuracy of results.
  • Features six different operating modes – The Narda FieldMan has three general operating modes; field strength, spatial average, and timer logging, as well as three additional modes with LF probes; spectrum, shaped time domain and scope.
  • Narda-TSX PC software – The TSX PC software platform is included with the Narda FieldMan allowing for users to easily manage data, evaluate results and create a range of test reports. The software can be downloaded free from the Narda website.
  • Measuring in sensitive locations – Electromagnetic fields are very common in human environments. The Narda FieldMan is sensitive enough to measure fields even in locations such as school and kindergartens to help with adhering to regulations.
  • Anti-glare display – The vividly coloured display is clear even in strong sunlight or low lighting.
  • Sturdy design – With IP 54 class protection, the Narda FieldMan produces reliable results even in difficult weather conditions, featuring a sturdy casing and rugged probes.
