A Small and Lightweight Personal PID Monitor

Introducing the latest addition to Ion Science’s gas and leak detection product range, the Cub 11.7 eV Personal Gas Monitor offers a new level of enhanced and reliable protection against VOC’s. The Cub 11.7 eV is the world’ smallest and lightest PID monitor for the accurate detection of volatile organic compounds and other gases that require a higher energy output such as acetylene, methanol and formaldehyde. It market leading sub-ppm sensitivity gives users early warning of hazardous gases, including benzene in confined spaces before they reach harmful levels.

Applications of the Cub 11.7 eV VOC Gas Detector

  • Datalogging for the use of Health and Safety Audits – Datalogging is invaluable to monitor exposure of VOCs. The Cub 11.7 eV logs real-time data to get accurate information on how much exposure a worker is subject to. These insights assist site safety personnel in processing risk and addressing safety issues when assessing worker safety The data can be downloaded using the USB docking station and uploaded to a PC software to create clear visuals for measuring VOCs. The Cub 11.7 eV is ideal for applications including occupational hygiene and confined space entry
  • Protects workers from exposure to VOCs - Being a small and lightweight PID monitor, the Cub 11.7 eV is unobtrusive to the wearer. When a worker’s exposure exceeds the pre-set limits the instrument’s audible, vibrating and flashing LED alarms to alert the worker of the gases present.

The Benefits of the Cub 11.7 eV over other Personal Gas Monitors

All Ion Science equipment comes with a mini PID2 sensor with patented fence electrode which eliminates the effects of humidity. The anti-contamination technology also extends the time between servicing. The high-capacity lithium-ion battery ensures a run-time of 12 hours of continuous use, allowing user to be covered for their shift. The Cub 11.7eV can be used with the Ion Science Cub Docking Station to charge the device, data download and calibration.
In this version, Ion Science has also overcome the issue of temperamental and frequent lamp changes required in the previous models of the Cub which increased environmental exposure and affected the performance of the product. The Cub 11.7eV ‘s sensor lamp has undergone a refined manufacturing method to eliminate some of these sensitivities.

Stand-out Features of the Cub 11.7eV

  • Unique locking functionality - The Cub 11.7eV’s locking functionality enables workers to move between areas in a facility by locking the device to record exposure in specific areas only. This keep the data clean and uninterrupted so that accurate data can be collected and understood before taking a corrective action.
  • Operational in high temperatures – The Cub 11.7 eV is operational in temperatures ranging from 0 -55 degrees and is IECEx approved for use in explosive environments.
  • Widest Range of gases detection – Sensitivity and selectability are important parameters in concentrations. The Cub 11.7 eV can detect gases from 0.5- 5000ppm. This is important as some gases such as CO2 have a limit value of 5000ppm, but gases such as hexane and toluene have low limit values of 50ppm.
