Government Budget Allocations For Asbestos Safety & Removal

Asbestos Safety and Removal Included In The Federal and Victorian State Budget 2016

Asbestos Safety And Eradication Agency - Additional Funding

As announced in the recent budget 2016-17 announcement, the Government will provide an additional $3.4 million over two years from 2016-17 to the Asbestos Safety and Eradication Agency to coordinate the National Strategic Plan for Asbestos Management and Awareness 2014-2018 (the Plan). The government will provide $2M in 2016-17 and $1.4M in 2017-18. The Plan establishes a framework for a national approach to asbestos management and awareness in Australia.

Victorian State Budget - School Asbestos Removal Funding

Victorian asbestos removalist service providers will also benefit from the 2016-17 state budget with Mr James Merlino, Mininster for Education, indicating that the budget will also include $28M to begin to remove asbestos from classrooms in Victoria.
