Peplin Operations API Southport - Facilities Upgrade
Queensland
Client: Peplin Operations in Southport produces API for dermatological products using advance extraction and purification techniques.
Brief: To implement a fixed gas detection system across all its laboratories.
Requirements: To detect vapour combustible gases and methanol.
Results: The TWA of methanol is 200ppm. One of the challenges rising from the project was sourcing a unit capable of detecting such low ranges. As a result, Air-Met supplied API with the ThermalGas Haloguard III which has low interference with other gases when it comes to methanol detection. Commissioning of sensors, controllers and alarms was in compliance with the requirements for hazardous areas (zone 1) and was audited by an independent auditor.
New Horizons Building
Monash University Clayton Campus
Client: Funded by the Australian Government, The New Horizons’ primary focus is to bring together world class researchers to tackle challenges in the areas future manufacturing, multi-scale modelling and design of materials, biological engineering and renewable energy.
Brief: To supply and install a fixed detection system in laboratories and lift shafts within the new Monash University New Horizons Building.
Requirements: The system was required to detect oxygen and combustible gases such as acetone and natural gases
Results:  A total of 255 Oldham combustible gas detectors as well as 55 Air-Met Monotox Transmit units were installed.
