Portable Mercury Analysers

Portable Mercury Analysers

Mercury is a natural substance present in the earth but is also produced in various industrial and medical uses. In our environment, mercury is present in three forms: elemental, organic compound and inorganic compound

The health effects of exposure to mercury and the degree of toxicity is dependent on a number of factors including the form of mercury, the amount of mercury in the exposure, the duration of the exposure, exposure method and the general health and age of the person exposed.

The major threat from mercury poisoning generally occurs from the inhalation of mercury vapours released into the air with health effects ranging from tremors, headaches, muscle weakness, neurological changes, loss of peripheral vision to death.

Portable Mercury Analysers from Air-Met Scientific

Designed with the latest in mercury detection technology, Air-Met’s range of portable mercury monitors can assist with providing quick, easy, and accurate detection of mercury vapour presence present in the environment. Our product range includes:

  • Ion Science MVI: Fast, accurate and with a response time of just 3 seconds, the MVI’s dual beam UV absorption technology means that unlike traditional gold film detection methods, the MVI does not saturate or need regenerating between readings therefore eliminating downtime. The MVI provides continuous readings and offers two detection ranges: 0.1 to 199 and 1 to 1999 microgram/cubic meter. The Ion Science Mercury Vapour Indicator is available at Air-Met for sale and rental.
  • Portable Zeeman Light-915 Mercury Analyser: Easy to use, the Light-915 Analyser delivers real-time detection and monitoring of mercury vapour packaged in a rugged and versatile case. With built in data logging capabilities and up to 12 hours of battery life, the Light-915 Analyser features high sensitivity and a low detection limit with a wide dynamic measuring range from 0.1 to 200 μg/m3 and is ideal for mercury spill and clean up emergency response applications, waste screening, workplace monitoring and more.
  • RA-915M Zeeman Mercury Analyser: Designed for measuring mercury vapour concentration in ambient air, the RA-915M Mercury Analyser uses atomic absorption spectrometry with Zeeman correction for interference free and accurate measurements. Simple to operate with a rugged and versatile design, the RA-915M is ideal for use in lab or field and provides rapid real-time monitoring of vapour phase mercury for up to 12 hours.
