Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) Cassettes

Designed for Sampling in Atmospheres where it is necessary to Separate DPM from other Respirable Dust.

SKC Diesel Particulate Matter (DPM) Cassettes are designed for sampling in atmospheres that require the separation of particles such as DPM, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and carbon nanofibers (CNFs) from other respirable dust.

Meeting NIOSH Method 5040 specifications for elemental carbon analysis of DPM or NIOSH CIB65 for carbon nanotubes and carbon nanofibers, the cassettes can be used in conjunction with a cyclone to screen out larger particles and prevent filter overload.

The single use SKC DPM Cassettes comprise of an impactor plate, impaction substrate and two heat treated quartz filters. The impactor plate screens out respirable particles > 1 µm and the second filter serves as a dynamic blank for correction of absorbed organic carbon.

Samples can then be analysed for organic and elemental carbon content using a highly sensitive Evolved Gas Analysis (EGA) technique with thermal-optical analyser as specified in NIOSH Method 5040.

DPM Cassettes can be used with any standard personal air sampling pumps such as the SKC AirChek or the Universal XR Series Air Sampling Pumps.

SKC DPM Cassettes come in tamper-evident sealed packaging and in packs of 10.
