The NextStep gas detection instrument employs a reliable paper tape detection system to sense toxic gases and utilises the most advanced electronics technology and analysis software to meet the needs of health and safety professionals.

The NextStep is based on the popular Autostep Plus gas detection instrument, but incorporates a number of more advanced features that set it apart from other gas detection systems. In particular, the instrument features a multi-function display with membrane-style switches that allow all user functions to be accessed from outside the instrument without additional, expensive hardware or software. Users of the AutoStep can upgrade their current instrument to include the features of the NextStep.

In-field calibration is made possible through the use of a single, color-based calibration card that ensures consistent performance within specific parameters and eliminates the need for annual factory testing. This has eliminated the need to use potentially toxic gases when calibrating the instrument by providing pre-calibrated cassettes, which simplifies the inventory, service, and maintenance process. The cassettes are designed and produced by chemists to be gasspecific to eliminate false positives from interfering gases.

The highly accurate NextStep is designed with an internal clock that allows industrial hygienists or management to view the concentration levels of each sample session. Exposure levels can be downloaded via cable to any Windows-based PC. No proprietary software or hardware is required. With this information, a plant’s environment can be re-engineered to reduce the levels of personnel exposure.
